Learn More About Participating in Lewis Neuro Lab Research

We always have opportunities for participation in our studies. The lab primarily engages in multiple modality research to include: electroencephalography (EEG), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and position emission tomography (PET), and simultaneous EEG-MRI. We enroll participants in the greater Boston area.

Imaging Brain Dynamics During Sleep

We are recruiting healthy adults for studies taking place at MIT & MGH. This study will study both subjects who are well-rested as well as those who are sleep restricted.

Participants will be paid at a rate of $80 for an fMRI session. An EEG-fMRI session compensation is $100. Subjects who take part in the sleep restriction will be paid an additional $50.

Imaging Brain Physiology After COVID-19

Your participation will improve understanding of the effects of Long COVID on the brain.

You will be compensated $100 for your time. Recruiting adults 18-85 who have had Long-COVID

Understanding Dynamics of Sleep and Mood in Depression

Feeling down or depressed? We are recruiting volunteers with and without depression for a paid research opportunity to study the brain networks involved in sleep and mood and how inflammatory markers relate to depressive symptoms.
Participation involves 3 in person sessions including one overnight sleep deprivation session in the lab and blood sample collection. If eligible, participants receive up to $585 for full completion.

Brain Health Across the Lifespan

Are you over 60 and interested in research? The Lewis Neuro Lab is seeking healthy volunteers between the ages of 20 and 40 and 60 and 85 years old to participate in research to study the changes in brain health across the lifespan.

This study involves 3 sessions including an MRI scan and a home overnight sleep study with the collection of a saliva sample. If eligible, participants receive up to $600 for full completion of the study.
